CSNRI Steel-Wrap™ is a unique, uni-directional, ultra-high-modulus carbon fiber fabric that is saturated with Steel-Wrap™ Epoxy and primer system to create an exceptionally strong composite for repairing dents, gouges, wrinkle bends, and cracks. It addresses deterioration as well as corrosion under insulation (CUI), metal loss, pitting, and cracking on steel members, steel plate on tanks, decks, and hulls, increasing the stiffening/load capacity with less weight than steel.

This solution delivers a lightweight material with a modulus and strength higher than that of steel. It is easy to install, requiring no welding, hot work, or shutdowns and requires less equipment than steel repairs.

Features

  • Higher modulus and strength than steel
  • Quick and easy installation
  • Ambient-cured epoxy
  • Design conforms to ASME PCC-2, ASME B31, ISO 24817, DOT, API, and CSA Z662 standards for nonmetallic reinforcing and repair

Benefits

  • Stiffer and stronger than steel
  • Lower design thickness
  • No post-curing necessary
  • Highest strain reduction available in a composite repair
  • No environmental impact
  • No special tools
  • No hot work
  • No shutdown required

Applications

  • High-pressure, transmission pipelines
  • Large diameter pipeline repair
  • Deficiencies such as dents, gouges, wrinkle bends, and cracks
  • Deterioration and damage including CUI, metal loss, pitting, cracking
  • Structural steel applications, including steel member reinforcement; steel plate repair for tanks, decks, hulls; stiffening/load capacity increase; weight reduction
