Western Water Works Supply Company becomes Advanced Valve Technologies’ exclusive distributor in Southern California

Enhanced partnership brings benefits for customers

Advanced Valve Technologies (AVT) and Western Water Works Supply Company have formed a partnership that will see the innovative AVT EZ ValveTM become even more accessible to the water utilities of Southern California.

Western Water Works prides itself on providing smooth running jobs from start to finish to the underground contractors and water utilities within their region and will be working with AVT to educate local water professionals on the virtues and values of inline insertion valve technology – valves that can be installed without the need to shut off the water.

Ranked among the industry’s most innovative solutions, the AVT EZ Valve is designed with an integrated isolation gate that allows the valve to be installed under pressure in challenging conditions. Using this valve allows customers to improve uptime and achieve greater environmental stewardship because it enables faster restoration than alternative solutions, has no negative effect on pipe integrity and can be installed at full pressure with no need to shut off the water supply.

The Western Water Works team has in in-depth knowledge of their region and knows that ensuring the industry truly understands how inline insertion valve technology works, will be key when it comes to installing the EZ Valve in their area. Director of People Development, Dominic Scigliano said: “We have found that our utility clients are excited to learn there is a solution to the age-old issues associated with cutting in a gate valve to a live water line. Once they see how simple, minimally invasive, and cost-effective it is to install an EZ-Valve, they are motivated to start those projects that may have been postponed. No matter if the utility decides to purchase a machine and self-perform or contract out to a qualified and certified installer, AVT & Western Water Works together make it, well, EZ.”

Six water operators have successfully completed AVT’s innovative training program and are ready to start installing 4″-12” valves – which usually takes under an hour. More operators are scheduled for training over the coming weeks.AVT President, Harry Gray said: “With Western Water Works’ in-depth knowledge of the challenges faced by Southern California water utilities, this partnership is great news for the residents and businesses of the region. We are fortunate to be partnering with a company that can help bring the AVT EZ Valve to the region and also has trusted relationships with local water utility operators. Their investment in the training and development of their people shows they have ambitious plans to ensure local water main repairs are safe and sustainable, leading to fewer incidences of water shut off and less inconvenience to local customers.”
